Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is the rare mobile RPG that doesn't drown you in menus. You build a small party, pick who leads each fight, and the turn-based combat rewards planning without demanding a spreadsheet. I got attached to my characters faster than I expected.

The writing does a lot of heavy lifting. Side quests actually branch, and choices you make early come back later in ways that felt earned. Battles are quick enough to squeeze into a break but deep enough that a wrong move stings.

My only gripe is the inventory screen gets crowded past the midgame. Still, this is one I recommend to anyone who thinks phones can't hold a proper RPG.
