Big Bass and the joy of a game that asks nothing of you

I didn't expect much from Big Bass. Fishing games on phones usually mean endless upgrades and pop-ups, so I braced myself. Instead I got something that just wanted me to sit by a lake and pay attention.

The loop is dead simple. Cast with a hold, wait, and tap the moment a fish takes the bait. The trick is patience — jerk too early and you lose it, wait too long and it swims off. After a few tries your thumb learns the timing without you thinking about it.

What kept me coming back was the mood. The water shifts through the day, the sounds are soft, and there's no counter yelling at you to hurry. I started leaving Big Bass open while I let my tea cool, casting a line every minute or so.

If you want a game that respects a bad day, this is it. Nothing here is demanding, and that's exactly the point. I've deleted flashier games and kept this one.
