Strategy games that don't eat your whole evening

I love strategy games and I hate how many of them demand an unbroken three-hour block. Tidewatch Command is the one that finally squared that circle for me.

The pause-and-plan structure means interruptions don't ruin a run. Kid needs something? Pause. Bus arrives? Pause. The game waits, and the tension is all in the planning, not twitch reflexes.

I lost a whole coastal chain the first time because I tried to save every town. Learning to let one fall so the others survive was the lesson that made everything click.

If you've bounced off mobile strategy before because it felt either too shallow or too greedy with your time, this is the middle ground. Deliberate, tense, and easy to walk away from.
